Hiding Behind Diseases

Kindest Regards, greymare!
for me to say it is a disease implies that it is an unconcious(?) event/bug etc that invaded a body. Its not, it is the result of us consciously putting something in our bodies (drugs/alcohol).
I wish I had a better vocabulary because Im not making myself clear even when I read it. LOL.
Compassion obviously for me is limited to those who need it. People who know me well, often think Im crazy because I will go out of my way to help people. Then there are the ones who wont get off their butts and help themselves, them I cant help. (I am hard, arent I )
You make perfect sense to me, once I caught on to what you were trying to say.

And I agree, for all that is worth. ;)

Oh aye, I get headaches from coffee... But then again drinking on average 12 cups per day... What do you expect lol.... I only get headaches minor with that, but weed... I really get short and aggressive. So as I said in my previous post... Wil is wrong it is addictive. But, there is no excuse for my actions or behaviour...

17th,

The last time we talked about this you accused me of being an "online shrink" :D

But I still bet that I have smoked up more weed than you can imagine, starting back in the 70's. I know now what long term effects the drug had on me and what it was like when I finally put it down.
It took a month for me to start feeling sane again without the "insulation" that the weed gave me. I felt raw and exposed for a while until it finally left my system. One night about a month after I quit I noticed for the first time in what seemed a lifetime, my mind was so clear and sharp it was amazing!
When the fog finally lifts and you are experienceing life firsthand without the filters an amazing thing happens. But it's not for everyone.

yes, being a alcoholic is a terrible addiction. I am not downplaying the horrible affects of it. (or any other addictive behaviour). I know the REAL problems that come with it.
That is NOT my point.

I agree with you. You can apply this to things like ADD and PMS. There are things you can do to deal with ADD and PMS, but it requires effort and mindfulness to deal with these things in a way that will avoid undesirable side effects.

Oh thanks sg, that's most helpful. I think I shall make this point the next time I am on the receiving end of PMS.;)

Artist: Dick Van Dyke as Carratacus Potts
Song: Me Ol' Bam-Boo

All:
A gentleman's got a walking stick.
A seaman's got a gaff.
And the merry men of Robin Hood
They used a quarterstaff.
On the Spanish plains inside their canes
They hide their ruddy swords.
But we make do with an old bam-boo
And everyone applauds!
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - Hey!
Me ol' bam-boo, me ol' bam-boo
You'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo.
You can have me hat or me bum-ber-shoo
But you'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo.

Chorus:
When punting on the beautiful Thames

Caractacus:
You use a sturdy pole.

Chorus:
To protect their fair complexion

Caractacus:
Ladies use a parasol.

Chorus:
It's useful in the underbrush

Caractacus:
To have a hefty spear.

Chorus:
Right!

All:
But what we do with an old bam-boo
Makes everybody cheer!
1 - 2 - 3 - HO!
Me ol' bam-boo, me ol' bam-boo
You'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo
You can have me hat or me bum-ber-shoo
But you'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo
'Ere we go, mate . . .

Caractacus:
A flyer in an air-e-o-plane

Chorus:
He steers it with a stick

Caractacus:
He does?

Caractacus:
A collier in the pits o' Wales

Chorus:
He leans upon his pick

Caractacus:
That's right!

All:
Now every wheel of an automobile
Revolves around a shaft (HEY!)
But what we do with an old bam-boo
Makes every one go daft.
And 1 - 2
Me ol' bam-boo, me ol' bam-boo
You'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo.
You can have me hat or me bum-ber-shoo
But you'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo.
(Dance break)
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - HEY!
And a 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - and a 5 and a 6 and a 7 HO!
Me ol' bam-boo, me ol' bam-boo
You'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo.
You can have me hat or me bum-ber-shoo
But you'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo.
You'd better never bother with me ol' bam-boo!

Oh sh1t. Oh sh1t. Oh sh1t.
Oh sh1t. Oh sh1t. Oh sh1t.
Oh sh1t. Oh/ ...........................................................

I suppose that's one excuse one may use in trying to escape the implacable realities of cold, damp, and scaly punishments.

flow....:p

LOL If you want to make it a compition go for it, I (with pride lol) Would bet money I have smoked more than most of the people from back in the 70's 60's.... I get through EASY 8 oz a month.... Average... Since I was 14..... Let's work that out....... That's like what 34kgs? 34 keys of weed..... :| On my own.... And I am sure there are quite some years ahead of me to raise that total.

But it's not for everyone.

No I don't think it is for me lol but, I'll "try".... Someday, maybe....

u must buy rubbish weed 17th to need to smoke 8oz a month... that works out about 2 oz a week... u can't keep down a job smoking that much, surely?

at least it makes my 1/2oz a week seem almost normal..

No I -grow- good weed. (others would vouch for that lol) Now and then.... Example... Winter... I will buy in extra weight... But majority of the time it is my own. half oz a week? Yes I would say that is like a "social smoker" :) Also, you mix it with tobacco (tut tut) right?

Not really going for a competition there kiddo, but sure, okay, you win. Geez your lungs must look like hell.

It's the price I pay.... What can I say? This plant is divine.... And I cannot help but endulge.

But, if we go back to the main plot... I am addicted to it, but I wouldn't like want to claim a welfare for it... Or something like that, it is all my fault I created my addiction... Which is all it is... It IS NOT an illness.....
