Atheists do not love their family, friends and pets...

Actually I do, Your on my ignore list now and btw you like Bob off of Surviver.

So that says a lot about you.

Well that took longer than I expected. It is so important to project those feelings onto another person isn't it? Feelings that otherwise might lead to questions...

I can't imagine a lot of people have put you on their ignore list, Paladin, your such a nice guy.

As to NDEs...we know that eye witness accounts and ear witness accounts are useless....but we are to believe what someone has 'seen' and 'heard' whilst in a coma, or without a heartbeat and brain function??

Really? Wanna hear my dreams about multiple dimensions of willing women?

I don't believe in a G!d "being", no critter, or larger than life anthropomorphic character living in a humid celestial cloud. And got no clue what hereafter is...I just like many atheists intend to live this life as best we can, without the need for some good/evil scale or permanent record controlling our behaviour.

But did Dookie just put hisseff on ignore?? Classic....I don't want to hear what I have to say either, I'm gonna check that out!

I put Paladin on my ignore list, cause He basically said I have no morals.

Again don't talk crap about me, I am a Agnostic btw.

Sorry Paladin, I'm not going to listen to anything you have to say. So you might as well not even bother to reply on this thread.

Well maybe If He said you have no morals then you'd think again.

Feel free to ignore whoever you like, I had to at one point for the sake of everyone else. But if your interested, that's not how I interpreted what he wrote.

Clarification....I don't believe in a G!d being....I believe in G!d. I say a nontheistice panentheistic unitic.

I don't believe in a being...I believe in an all inclusive underlying principle...find the teo, find G!d...

Well lets just say like your case when you had to ignore whoever it was then this is my case.

Okay thanks for clarifying.

I dunno... maybe living a good life for the sake of a good life (see Epicetus or the core of Plotinus or the ethical core of ahimsa or the Pali Sutras or Chuang-tzi or George or Matthew Fox) is enough.

Does it matter if there is an afterlife (including re-incarnation)? Not really. To be here and now and loving and kind and just and creative (see the role of creativity in process theology) should be enough. To be a Nietzsche or a Hitler or a Stalin or a Rand is to be avoided.

Does this make any sense at all?

It should be.

Quite right.

To be here and now and loving and kind and just and creative (see the role of creativity in process theology) should be enough.
Bloomin' right. A lot of 'spirituality' seems more involved with avoiding that very place where the rubber meets the road, rather than getting down and dirty where it's at.

That's why to be a 'gnostic' or any 'ism' that seeks to separate spirit and matter (by the implicit rejection of one in favour of the other) should also be avoided.

It makes perfect sense. This concept is the foundation that flows from my indifference as to whether deities exist and whether there is an afterlife.

Since I will never know those answers in this life, I believe in living this life to the fullest extent of my ability.

What comes after may be everything. Or nothing. In either case it will take care of itself when that time comes.

Yes it does make sense to a certain point.

Well lets just say like your case when you had to ignore whoever it was then this is my case.

I find that it speaks volumes about a person when they are quick to point a finger and pass judgement on an entire section of the population (in this case atheists), but are so hyper-sensitive to perceived criticism. Sure you can silence one voice that offers feedback, but it is going to take a lot of energy and ruin the chance for meaningful relationships to keep that strategy going.

I'm sure you feel the same way about theists.

I'm sure you feel the same way about theists.

If you took the time to get to know me you'd know that is precisely the case. I do not take kindly to anyone marginalizing, dehumanizing or abusing other people no matter who they are. On this site I have some dear friends who are Catholic, Christian, Muslim, Atheist, Hindu, Buddhist and at least one Panentheist I can think of.

Here you're assuming things about people you don't know, it really is getting in the way of anything good.

Can I recommend putting Paladin on your actual Ignore list if you're having trouble ignoring him manually. You'll find the option if you click his profile and then 'User Lists' under his name.
