What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

Taxi to the Dark Side (2007)

This movie tests every ounce of my compassion for George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzales and others.

Given a choice I would imprison and torture them all.

Congratulations gentlemen, for helping me find my evil nature.

Currently watching "the magic Christian"

Peter Sellers, Ringo Starr, Christopher Lee, Spike Millgan, Richard Attenborough tons of big names even Roman Polanski... It's going quite well so far lol....

"To be or...." -Actor
"I've seen it......." - Starr.

That made me chuckle.

Anyway after this going to finish watching the end of Prison break, then have Les aventures de rabbi Jacob (The mad advenutres of Rabbi Jacob) To look forward too!!!!

Ok so 'The magic christian' I get the 'moral' of the story, but sorry I was all out of acid tabs to understand what the hell was going on.... This film was messed up lol.

Didn't get round to seeing rabbi jacob after watch the (sad) ending to the series Prison break I went on to a new series called "The Legend of the Seeker" it is gut....

Had a church retreat this weekend... it was based on watching movies and discussing the lessons, morals, mythology, metaphor, parables found in the movie...

the movies were...

August Rush
The Secret Life of Bees
Henry Poole is Here

and G!d and Buddha a discussion between Deepak Chopra and Robert Thurman...

the movies were all good, the discussion afteword was great.

Henry poole was a fricken idiot.... :/ He got to me, how he was just so freaking stubborn... If he thought it was all aload of bull why didn't he simply touch it and leave it at that.. For the sake of a freaking peaceful life at least!!! lol... Not bad film. However title gives away the ending.

1941. I still love John Belushi and Dan Akroyd, and the dance sequence alone is worth the price of admission.

Quest for Fire. I see something new every time I watch.

the juy just wanted to die. His plan was to eat and drink and be sorry for himself....he resented the neighbors for pulling him to life...

OK, Just watched Marley and me.
I didnt want to watchit.
I knew it would end sad.
I cried a bucket load.
But worth watching.
I let my dog sleep on Bradys bed after it.
LOL
Im such a sook.

Marley, modern day old yeller eh?

I've just watched 'The Vistior' quite an interesting story. My daughter wants to use it for her World History class...

Running out of films that I haven't seen.....
Just saw Angels & Demons

You would be surprised how similar the plot was to Aeon Flux. You may not have seen that movie, but there is no point in seeing both of them. They are about the same, so you can cross one off and see the other instead.

Drag Me to Hell was definitely worth nine bucks, which is a lot. It's as funny as it is scary; the horrific becomes hilarious several times over. I especially like that the elderly gypsy, Mrs. Ganush, the villain of the story, has dentures that seem to have been custom-made to look decayed. Nice touch, Sam Raimi. Oh, and the orchestral music used in the film is reminiscent of those real popular movies of his--you know, the ones about the Marvel Superhero who learns that with great power comes great responsibility. The movie itself is in the spirit of the Evil Dead trilogy.

Quiggley Down Under, an old western that I never got around to watching. Which is to my detriment...I found I liked it.

Dances With Wolves, this won Academy awards? I realize Costner is a Hollywood darling that can do no wrong (even after super-duds like Waterworld and the Postman), but c'mon...if this is supposed to evoke some inter-cultural good feelings between Euro-white Americans and Native Americans, there are plenty of better film choices. It's always a pleasure to watch Graham Greene and Tantoo Cardinal act, but this wasn't even their best work either. Nice effort, points for trying, but it was just too slick and contrived...too convenient. Gimme Jeremiah Johnson instead.

"Fanboys"

Funny ****. Star wars fanboys one of them seperates from the group and become an "adult" and gets a job and all that bollocks... Anyway he becomes united with them again and attempts to repair damaged friendships with on of his friends... Who, is seriously.. Ill and well they arrange a plot a scheme to go to the lucas ranch and break into the ranch and steal the latest film (Episode I lol.) Along the way there are twists and turns...

And I love it when they get into gang warfare with the gay trekkers...

anyone seen Red Cliff?

I found a copy of the Kite Runner yesterday and watched, turned out to be nothing like what I expected. It was a very moving story, I would recommend a good watch.

Being a Clint Eastwood fan, I have been looking forward to Gran Torino. It didn't hurt that I also like the old Torinos, but I knew the movie wouldn't have much to do with the car, and that guess was quite right. Eastwood movies have a tendency to be predictable, especially if he has a gun in his hand. I don't want to spoil the ending, but while this started out typical Eastwood, the end was anything but typical. Well worth the watch, I am glad I spent the money I did to get this as a new release. If you like Eastwood, you won't be disappointed.

Watched three films tonight (really only want to 'plug' one of them but will tell you about the others....)

Hungover.. 6/10
Pretty funny has it's moments...

Land of the Lost.. 7/10
Very funny great film... Recommend! :D

Madea goes to jail.... 9.5/10
Totally... What? wow! Did, not, expect, this. I never read up about any films.... I just watch um... This film I saw the picture.. You got that dude dressed up as an old black woman... I thought, ok here comes another 'big momma' film.. And prepared myself for a few chuckles here and there.... I was freaking blown away....

This film has -everything- this is a good allrounder... You have comedy, drama, supense, thriller... REALITY....

It's like sections, little films/stages... and they are all very different, yet they are woven together..... Starts ff with Madea... And this funny old criminal woman... Then it turns, this is where the unexpected pace change came for me.. It turns to the story of a man who made it out from the ghetto.. and well he struggles to help this woman that he knew and wasn't as lucky... And as it goes on, this 'street preacher' and madea come into the picture too.... And I don't want to ruin this... But Please.... See this film, you shouldn't be disappointed..... It takes on truth... It takes on dealing with pain... It takes on forgiveness.....

The Dr Phil scenes are freaking hilarious!!!

"forgiveness isn't for them, it's for you."

read book, watched new movie & old movie, old truer to book, new uses extensive language and cameras instead of acting and character development.

land of the lost.....eh

Yup land of the lost, is basically not really my bag... For a story in normal circumstances... But, this isn't a normal one.. It has my boy, Will Ferrel in it... That changes -everything- I am a fanboy of his heh.

And I enjoyed it!! :D Surprise!

He plays this Dr... And he has this "crazy" theory of time and parallel universes and whatnot.. And basically everyone dismisses his science as bs.... And somewhere down the line he gets this person who believes in his theory and that motivates him to work on it again.. And well he ends up in this void.... Like in the middle of everything where stuff seems to just appear from other dimensions and stuff... But it's about him and his "team" attempting to survive the creatures and beings they meet while attempting to get back home..

Thanks for the heads up on Land of the Lost, I remember the old Saturday morning kiddie series, which was really a bit ahead of its time.

Watched an old favorite, Gumball Rally. Totally mindless fun for people that like older exotic hot rods and half naked women. Absolutely nothing of ethical value to be garnered. As a bonus, the second half of the double feature was Cannonball Run 2, more exotic hot rods and semi-naked women along with an ensemble cast of veteran actors including Dom DeLuise (Captain Chaos), Burt Reynolds, the Rat Pack (Sinatra, Martin and Davis, jr.), Jamie Farr, Mel Tillis, Tony Danza and a whole lot more. Made for an enjoyable comedic afternoon.

Watched a movie with the wife titled "Babel." It was almost surreal, the way it bounced back and forth between characters in Morocco, Mexico and Japan. By the time the movie ends it draws ties between them all, but it is a strange trip to get there. A little too bizarre for my tastes, others might appreciate it better. It did feature Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchette, and one or two other character actors I recognize, but the storyline was hard to follow...thank goodness for the subbtitles, considering I don't speak Moroccan or Japanese, and my Spanish is very limited.

Last night was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Found a DVD copy so I gave away my video tape copy. The DVD appears to have the added benefit of spoken English and / or Chinese subtitles, but for my wife's benefit we did it the other way around. At least now I have a little better clue what the actors were saying...
