Fictionalize Yourself

Got a message from "my clan": they got an interesting treat today from the young lady and her bosses - squid jerky and plantain chips. It was to repay them for dealing with several someones who've been causing her no end of sorrow (my guys wouldn't take a monetary award but . . . .)

Anyway, she was treated to a concert before reaching an animal-friendly hotel (they sleep indoors as much as possible during this eight-day trip [taking into consideration all of the "little ones" {not :kitty:s}].)

Oh, and the "people" who were causing trouble? A guy and his buddies who wouldn't accept that she'd dump him/them. It was funny hearing about the general mayhem wrought by my guys from an outsider's viewpoint (especially when one sentence was uttered before several knives let one combatant know he was "out of the running" ["Beware, it's going to be expensive."].)

Gotta go. Another load of squid jerky's being dropped off for storage along with several tons of plantain chips.

I got a strange message from "the clan" - please get in contact with another attorney as ours isn't recognized by the local constabulary.

Do I need to get something stronger than either alcohol or weed?

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Wren had an interesting "crew" this flight: Tiger Lily, Chii and Dusk Moonshadow (Shadow Nightstalker's "little sister".) Yep, all :kitty:s. :D

Tiger Lily's demanding that I pack a few of the :kitty:s toys along with the bento boxes so they can play without doing any major destruction (she misses her catnip-filled teddy bear, I think.) We're in the middle of negotiations, though.

Found out that the jerks who attacked my "clan" seem to have pressed charges against them. My guys won't strike first, but they'll strike last/hardest. Anyway, I guess the bike trip will be another week and a half (gotta make more bento boxes!) Good thing I can get several tons of fish balls made/frozen along with steamed buns (and rice balls are quick and easy to make, too.)

Might have to postpone the fundraiser. :(

Oh, you caught me in the middle of "singing" my "clan" to sleep (I chose three songs: Angie by the Rolling Stones, The Flame by Cheap Trick and Silver Springs by Fleetwood Mac.) Each are rather low key, perfect (or purrfect) to go along with the rumbling relaxation from the :kitty:s. Yogi's trying to remain calm during the forced sojourn, but several of his cohorts have told me that he might just go temporarily nuts being stuck there. I warned the local DA that the :kitty:s just might decide to mark the entire place if a preliminary trial isn't held soon (plus, they are responsible for getting litter for the :kitty: delegation's toilets!)

Ah, gotta get back to my singing or the entire group might not sleep.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

I sent my "clan" a huge order of Italian (much to Al's sheer delight and the poor cooks' dismay.) You see, I had to order out, so I decided to call a local Italian restaurant. 40 pizzas, 20 full pans of pasta, 20 full pans of different entrees and 20 large salads were quickly consumed by all and Al quickly used Wren's wireless to call in his compliments. From what Wren's told me, they switched to speaking Italian almost immediately, Al becoming rather animated (methinks there's another restaurant on my contact list for the group.)

Oh, and I have a new guy. I'm not sure how to explain that his space will soon be restricted due to hundreds of others (he has Asperger's which, for those not familiar with it, is a form of autism where the person has the cognitive skills but not the social skills.) Daiba Tatsumi might be an asset in easing all of the logistics (he's a computer genius but an interpersonal klutz.) I hope he learns quickly which of the guys are wearing *You'd Better Chill* signs before he's a head shorter. *puke*

Oops, gotta go. Incoming message from Wren.

It feels strange cooking for only three after cooking for hundreds for so long. I have to practically force Daiba to leave his computer to do more than take care of "Do not disturb" stuff, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Ukitake will be more than happy to persuade him (threaten him with both 3rd seats and he'll do anything.) Sloppy joes with cheese, barbecue potato wedges, a quick salad and orange spritzers really were helpful (don't worry, bb, I used veggie "meat" for the sandwiches so my apartment's still okay.) Wren stopped by for another bento box pick-up.

When he got back, he broadcast an aerial photo of the "clan" to give Daiba an idea of how big the gang actually is (poor guy nearly had a cardiac incident seeing the area completely covered in people during the rest stop) and also connected him to several of the participants (Mamoru, the blind swordmaster, spoke with him for a few minutes, reassuring him that no humanoid will intrude on his personal space unless absolutely necessary, but he'd have to discuss his parameters with the :kitty:s individually.) Both Yoh and Suoh spoke for a short while as did Sakuya and Yuki. Byakuya, Kenpachi and Shuuhei just kind of looked at Wren quizzically while Belinda just waved with her good hand. I explained that the little girl had a stroke, which was why her one hand looked strange.

Gotta go. I have "demands" for more of the sloppy joes and I should get the chocolate hazelnut ice pops out of the freezer for dessert.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

I had a (relatively) long conversation with Daiba on his terms (Asperger's can make normal conversations difficult) reassuring him that he'll be left alone by the humanoid members of the "clan" unless he invites them to sit for a while. I introduced him to a couple of :kitty:s, Cigar (a Havana brown) and Positron (a "friendly-parents"), who stayed behind while the horde of their comrades went "traveling". The three of them have been sequestered in Daiba's "cave" since six this morning, the :kitty: flap opening and closing occasionally.

The bike shop's employee has regaled me with more stories from the road, like the idjit biker (as in motorcycle) who decided to try something "funny" and found himself face-to-face with several armed and displeased men. He wiped out when he ran across Komamura and Madarame, knocking Madarame down. I don't think the guy's going to soon forget a (real) fox-headed humanoid. :D

Wren picked up today's bento boxes, squid jerky and plantain chips earlier (they're having curry) along with more :kitty: toys, trading photos from the road. Suoh's been really protective of Tiger Lily from what I've been told. Takaba sent me a photo of the huge man cuddling up with a three-and-a-half or four month old kitten (aw, cute!)

Gotta go. A request for leftovers.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Mieu called (she's the other android that came with Wren), her giggles escaping. You see, they heard a song on a radio that was quite appropriate for "the clan": It's Raining Men by The Weather Girls. The guys were quite nervous and the gals just broke down laughing. I'm not letting them live that down! :D

They are pedaling eastward for the fourth leg of the trek and several representatives of the media have been interviewing various members, asking about the fundraiser (some have talked about how to start local fundraisers, too.) Tiger Lily's been a hit, especially when she's curled up on Suoh's broad shoulder.

Oops, gotta go. Daiba's just informed me that there's an incoming from Wren.

Just got back from visiting "the campground" (Wren flew me in his helicopter form [fun! :D].) Arrived just in time to be interviewed by a freshman DJ (won't have a long career if we have our way!) I mean, he was representing a secular station but kept bringing in his fundamentalist Christian propaganda, even trying to convert those who are blatantly non-Christian [like the members of Astral, the shinigami, our "ancients", those who come from worlds/realities that don't have the same tenets as his, etc.]. *Note to self - deliver the pile of Chick Tracks to Tyler and America*) Our shinto priestess cleansed the entire area of that guy's aura, placating the spirits who were quite angry, saving everybody remaining from not-so-nice aftereffects.

Ryoutou and Nekoyashiki had fun with him. :D

Anyway, I got a chance to sing with the gang (I sang Harmony by Elton John, This Masquerade by George Benson, Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody and Mercedes Benz by Janice Joplin.) The twins just howled with laughter during Hot Rod Lincoln, tears streaming from their eyes, falling over and clutching their sides. They're just lucky they were able to find trees to "water" in time, shall we say. :D

Anyway, one of the other interviewers asked how this strange fundraising idea came about, then Yuki began talking about how the Children's Hospital fundraiser began, then Suoh took over with his adopting Tiger Lily. I just told the interviewer that this fundraiser just stems from block parties we usually have during pleasant weather, but with the addition of a new group, Circus. Hirato took over, describing some of things that they'll do, Yogi demonstrating a few of his tricks (show-off.)

Still another interviewer was taken aback by Mamoru ("How can somebody who is totally blind navigate through the terrain he has to?") I just suggested that he show what he has hidden in his cane (yeah, I can be a female canine. :D) I told her that he's proficient in its use and that he's never struck an ally with it. Her look was priceless (sword canes can do that to a "normal" person.)

Gotta go. Daiba's calling and he sounds frantic.

They are asleep (I played an interesting lullaby - A Song for Mama by Boyz II Men - using Wren as a sound system.) I have a sneaking suspicion that the song's going on the list of songs to learn/sing during our future appearances. If so, I wonder if it's going to be Sado or Yoh singing the bass part.

*sigh* Daiba's quite a bit of help right now, but I wonder how long that's going to last. I've never really dealt with an adult with any form of autism before, so this is a brand new experience for me. At least Ukitake's learned some of Daiba's current routine.

Gotta go. I don't want to have my sleep patterns ruined enough that I won't be able to handle the return of the insanity (aka "the clan".)

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Just got some news about "my clan" (of crazy idiots with "stones" the size that ate the sun without getting singed): they have an octet working on three Boyz II Men songs (one of them with a female/two females doing Mariah Carey's part.) Yep, the are currently practicing A Song for Mama, Goodbye to Yesterday and One Sweet Day. The music teacher told me they couldn't decide between Sado or Yoh for bass, so they decided to use both, then everybody's part had to be doubled to balance it out.

Another is practicing Trapped by Bruce Springsteen, still another's practicing Me and Little Andy by Dolly Parton and Yoh's practicing Ikanaide (got a reaction from Belinda.) The lady from the bike shop might be falling for our "underground information gathering expert" (but she'd better take a number.)

They're on their final leg of the tour (the one home.) Last night, one of the members of the press brought along several cooks from his neck of the woods. They introduced my "clan" to the Door County Fish Boil (Colonel Mustang had fun with that, especially when the kerosene was added to the boil. :D) As I mentioned before, my "clan" has "stones" big enough to swallow the sun and get frostbite.

Gotta go. Gotta get things set up for their return.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

They're home and passed out. The bikes have been returned to the stores and the "tour guide" has given her bosses a full report (both video and written.) I have a reservation for the swimming pool after hours for the rest of the week as well as the fundraiser/"block party".

Daiba's firmly entrenched in his room (he saw an almost endless line of people, panicked, then went into "hermit mode".)

Hirato asked me something interesting before he fell asleep: why did Uryuu make a particular gesture? He demonstrated it: holding his right thumb and index finger out, then twisting the hand like screwing in a light bulb. I explained that it was a signal to "switch adversaries" in a fight. It could be because the person he was up against a "power" fighter (Uryuu's more speed than power) or it could've been the person was a melee fighter (Uryuu's an archer, therefore a "ranged" fighter.) "It's like on the train when you first worked with Gareki and Nai. Nai could pinpoint where the electronic transmitter was, but couldn't disarm it. Gareki could disarm it, but couldn't find it. You couldn't find it or safely disarm it, but you could expose the transmitter after Nai located it. Uryuu was utilizing his strengths by trading during the fights, like you were utilizing your strengths on the train." I told him that we'll discuss this further after he was fully rested.

Oh, note to self: gotta inform my suppliers that they're to resume the four-times-a-week deliveries.

Gotta get to bed myself (this has been a rather - interesting - month.)

Phyllis SidheUaine

Ah, welcome to "Residual Chaos starring Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine".

I finally got the last of my "clan" to sleep (note to self: locate Warm Ways by Fleetwood Mac) and tomorrow's going to be even more chaotic. Our fundraiser starts tomorrow in earnest (oh G!d/dess!) and they (my "clan") have scraped up some donations for the victims of the Greek wildfires (the money's already wired to a respectable/responsible organization.)

Uryuu and Hirato chatted about Uryuu's little "signal", Hirato visibly impressed with the younger man's ingenuity. Well, it is an asset to use hand signals during fights because it doesn't require anything that could alert the opponent as to what's going on. The only thing better would be telepathy, but I don't think anybody here has that ability. Hirato later went to discuss the use of "gestures as tactical communication" with his troops and the other commanding officer.

I ordered Italian again, and the head chef personally came over to assist in the setting up of the dinner buffet (although I believe he spent more time chatting with Albert than supervising the setup. :D) He regretted having to go back to the kitchen at the restaurant, but Al left his personal phone number with him so he can call whenever he wants/has time to chat.

The :kitty:s that went on the tour have reacclimated to their territory, but there's going to be a few fights in the foreseeable future (as anybody who has ever resided with :kitty:s knows, they are creatures of habit; disturb the routine and :kitty: gets cranky.) And with a colony as big as I have . . . .

Ah, just found out that my "clan" got a request to extend the "block party" until the day after American Labor Day. Hey, 17th! I need "the good stuff"!

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Keigo's in hot water (again.) Tsukumo kicked him in a way he won't soon forget! :)eek:) Eva followed that with one of her special attacks. He's on bed rest until further notice.

The :kitty:s are a hit with the people at the "block party", especially when Tiger Lily is perched on Suoh's shoulder (her territory!) And, if the timing right, her story's up on screen while they're "cruising" the crowd.

Yogi's mascot costume's a huge hit with the people at the costume shop (they couldn't take enough photos of the ham.) They promised to store the costumes for the next time we're going to need them with one stipulation: Hirato, Yogi, Yoh, Asami, Al, Ranmaru, Wren and the twins have to pick them up. Harassment ahoy!

Oh, and there were representatives from the bike shop, the radio station (live broadcasts the entire stint!) and from the places we're donating everything to (they're extremely grateful for everything we're doing for them.)

The food's been a hit, too (and not the "Please drop a non-perishable item in the drum", although we've been lucky that's going rather well.) Frozen concessions are sold by the snow spirits (they've returned from Antarctica, refreshed [crazy snow spirits!] and rarin' to go.) The people from Circus have avoided the "winter room" as I call it because it's too cold for them (fur coats can go in, but it's still a bit chilly, even for them, but just a bit warm for the snow spirits.)

Kanou scammed a scam artist (that guy's not going to live it down over the weekend while he's getting three-hots-and-a-cot courtesy of state police.) One of Hirato's low-ranked underlings took the guy in (Hirato filled out the paperwork with one of his new pens that he picked up from the farmers market booth [he adores his olive set as much as Asami and FeiLong treasure their respective sets] and asked for copies of the paperwork for his personal files.) The jerk tried to pass himself off as a representative of one of the charities, but when Kanou asked a few questions, he cracked, then tried bolting. Ran right into Kuba-nii :)p).

Anyway, everybody got the pool after we shut down for the evening (except Keigo, who is in solitary until he recovers/chills.) The kids stayed in the shallows with plenty of adults playing with/keeping at least one eye on them. Al brought a toy replica of the sailboat he takes on occasion, much to several males' (both adult and underage) delight. We ended the evening with burritos.

Gotta go since tomorrow's going to be just as busy (except for Keigo and the scammer, I hope!)

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Rules of thumb when going grocery shopping with my "clan":

1) Refrain from giving them anything with either caffeine or sugar (especially the berserkers!)

2) Keep the more hyper ones "on a leash" (especially the berserkers!)

3) Wait to see if any of the security staff will ask for assistance in capturing someone

4) Offer a reward for good behavior (especially to the berserkers!)

5) Send only half of group, keeping the others beside you (especially berserkers!)

Long story short: a violent shoplifter (punched three workers at the store) ran across the paths of my "clan", initiating the "chase" response of roughly 400 people. I made the mistake of giving them the go-ahead.

The suspect is recovering in the prisoner area of a local hospital and my guys raided the chocolate stash (those who didn't raided the fruit stash.) *sigh*

Gotta go talk with the detectives. Again.

They went to class today, working their performance schedules around their class schedules. Some found out they're in my friend America's math class (a couple of them told me when I ran into them.) Al's taking a Japanese class and the sensei asked if he'd be willing to tutor some of the first-semester students. Looks like several of the "clan" are going to earn some extra money as foreign language tutors (FeiLong is tutoring in Chinese [don't know which dialect, so don't ask me], Al in both Italian and Japanese, Asami in French, Chinese and Japanese and Yoh in both Chinese and Japanese.)

I see a rise in female students asking for tutoring sessions in the immediate future.

I picked up quite a bit of stuff from the farmers market (much to my pantry's delight) and the guys who were able to join me enjoyed the talent this week (at least, they enjoyed the pre-recorded music.) Apples, heirloom tomatoes, pattypan squash, eggplant, bicolor corn, kettle corn, honey, so many other items that we had Wren fly the stuff home while the rest of us went by public transportation. Some of the farmers asked us about the helicopter, but we were mum on the subject. ;)

The adults are swimming right now (I hope there aren't any hidden cameras taking photos of the group, especially since they're wearing fundoshi and too many of them look too nice in that attire) and the kids/:kitty:s/Dog are asleep. Monday will be the last day of this as far as I know since Tuesday'll be testing for the swimming/scuba classes and the school will need it.

Gotta go. Yuki's little ones are looking at me in the "We want to wait up for mommy and daddy, but we're too little for that" way.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Cross was a hit with their duet (ABBA's The Name of the Game.) Those in the audience who were familiar with the song joined in the chorus. They followed up with ABBA's Knowing Me, Knowing You, then led the audience in Dance (While the Music Still Goes On) (again, by ABBA.) No, their set wasn't just ABBA hits, but they were the most recognizable to many members of the audience.

The octet who performed Boyz II Men songs were also a hit (the two basses who rattled the woofers caused major meltdown in the female hetero- or bi-identified and male non-hetero-identified audience members.) They performed with two female singers One Sweet Day (originally sung by Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey, but what can you do?) Yoh then went into Ikanaide and Friend. The Japanese campus population started crying when he did his solo stint (not because he was terrible, but he seemed to pour his heart right into each song.) He received several more proposals, which he politely turned down.

We did have a few disruptions by fundies, but there were only five arrests (the others left after they were asked politely to leave, a few with a bit of "encouragement" shall we say?) One capture was by Yogi, who was still in costume ("Can you say embarrassing? I knew you could." :D) Hirato caught the "ringleader" (that was even funnier) who wanted us to stop bringing "satanic practices" onto a Christian campus. Hirato retorted, "Christian campus? That university's over there. If you'd like, I'll give you the exact address." (I like it when he's sarcastic. :D) The members of Astral as well as some of the other non-"Abrahamic"-identified participants cleansed the area again right before we returned to the "main event".

The members of Circus were a hit with the little children (well, most of them.) The ":kitty: tamer" had several :kitty: doing tricks (no fire stuff, though. Didn't want to chance it.) Chii just adored the attention she received during her performance. She's a ham for Fishy Feast or Liver Lunch. *shakes head* Akihito did a live broadcast on the big screens of the tamer's shtick so everybody could see.

Ah, gotta go. I'm up with Hirato for our dances. Several of the "clan" have said, "Break a leg," which I'm hoping won't be literal.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Update of today: several truckloads of nonperishable food items were collected over our stint as well as food, bedding and toys for the humane society (this is on top of the monetary donations collected.)

My "clan" went swimming after the gig (one hidden camera lost a fight to Shigure's shuriken while a couple of others were carefully removed by Gareki, Hirato, Yoh and Akihito [and they were  at the person/persons responsible for setting up the cameras].) Akihito asked the police if he could have the surviving cameras for his use (he'd never set up something like that [doesn't need to].)

Oh, before you ask, there are security cameras, but they aren't in areas that are "questionable". We asked, plus Daiba, did a computer search of the building from his "cave". Anyway, one camera ended up in the pool (no, it wasn't waterproof, so that one's also trashed) and five more are currently in police custody, awaiting their former owners.

Daiba also provided musical background for everybody from his vast collection of bookmarks and downloads. He went in later with three trusted people to make sure he didn't drown or anything like that. I guess he enjoyed the swim because his bum leg didn't cause him any trouble, plus it was time he could spend getting to know several of the :kitty: swimmers who joined him. Oh, before you ask, the people were humanoids, not felines. :D

Gotta go. Long day tomorrow with getting two checks cut (one for the Hunger Task Force, the other for the Wisconsin Humane Society) plus school starts in earnest.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Final total for our benefit: $360,000! :)eek:) Not bad for something going on during bad financial times, eh?

Oh, we also found out who installed the "security" cameras and they're expelled from school (have to repay all their financial aid, pay for the replacement cameras, plus two have been drummed out of the military [their schooling was being paid by Uncle Sam via one or more military services].) One of them was a student senator (will have an emergency election for his seat.) The :kitty:s had fun with the printouts the kids had of our pool parties (I think you can guess what they did, those "naughty" :kitty:s. :D)

I sang a few songs earlier today which several of the couples enjoyed immensely: Sparkle by Cameo, Diamonds and Pearls by Prince and the New Generation, When It's Love by Van Halen and Lotta Love by Nicolette Larson. Things got a bit "interesting" to say the least (luckily they found quiet places to "neck" in private.) Good thing I didn't have anything "harder" playing or it would've been really interesting! :)eek: )

The first day of tutoring was today and the tutors were inundated with females requesting their assistance. Our deaf member was helpful in that he helped with enunciation/pronunciation (one has to really think about both when speaking to someone who has to read lips in order to "hear" what's being said.) A few girls tried "pick up lines" on him (he blushes quite nicely [it's a good thing he can pretend to not quite get all of the words the girls are saying. ;)].) He got a frozen fruit slush as a reward for his being so patient with his fellow "clan" members (they didn't have any control over their students, so they were almost as frustrated as he was.)

There's going to be a new rule posted in the tutoring center starting today: No flirting with the tutors, students or those who have business in the tutoring center before, during or after one's session.

Gotta go. Sounds like Keigo's in hot water. Again.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Cross is learning a few Loggins and Messina songs (they're practicing Angry Eyes right now) for future performances, adding a bit of variety to "our" repertoire. They're "borrowing" several of the musicians, including the guys from Lucifer.

We had a "mass tutoring" today (it was interesting working with several different accents/dialects, which was a change from the usual one dialect/tutor.) Going to have to ask the tutoring center as well as the professors if it will be repeated. Several of the students recognized Suoh because of the broadcast of his furry manager's story, which got him to teach them his dialect (since he lapses into it when he's excited about a subject.) He just lights up when he talks to/about Tiger Lily. Oh, excuse me a moment. . .

What is it, Tao? We're running out of chopped peppers? I'll be right there.

Gotta go. I'm directing the "burrito building" line while a few others are directing the other Tex-Mex "assembly lines". :kitty:s are also standing by.
